Surveillance footage shows Elizabeth "Liz" Waddell, 44, walking toward a jetty near her Airbnb in the Grand Anse Beach area of St. George's at 11:36 a.m. on 22 July, sitting in the sun for several minutes before entering the water at approximately 11:51 a.m. — and not returning, according to abcnews.com.

The Royal Grenada Police Force released the new details during a news conference on Tuesday. Waddell, a physical therapist and fitness instructor from Cary, North Carolina, had been vacationing in Grenada with a friend when she disappeared.

Authorities said she was seen swimming at 12:04 p.m. At approximately 12:46 p.m., the same surveillance system recorded her friend walking outside to look for her before returning alone. Waddell was subsequently reported missing.

Commissioner of Police Randy Connaught confirmed that the case continues to be treated as a missing person investigation. "The investigative team is also examining whether any person, vessel or vehicle, moved to the relevant locations during this critical period," Connaught said.

Grenadian authorities have intensified search efforts in the days since Waddell's disappearance. The Coast Guard and local dive teams have conducted underwater searches, and a K9 unit has been deployed. Investigators say they are continuing to review evidence and reconstruct her movements prior to her vanishing.

Her husband, Cailen Waddell, said he personally swam the area and described the water near the shore as shallow and rocky in places — "more like a lake — not like the ocean water we experience in North Carolina," he said in a statement. He thanked community members for their support during the ongoing search.

Friends and family have described Waddell as compassionate, outgoing, and always willing to help others.

The U.S. State Department confirmed to ABC News that it is aware of the disappearance and is assisting the family with filing missing persons reports. The agency declined to comment further, citing privacy concerns.
