Surveillance cameras captured Elizabeth "Liz" Waddell, 44, walking toward a jetty near her Airbnb at 11:36 a.m. on 22 July — but no footage shows her returning from the water, abc7chicago.com reports, citing an update from the Royal Grenada Police Force.

Waddell, a physical therapist and fitness instructor from Cary, North Carolina, had been vacationing with a friend in the Grand Anse Beach area of St. George's when she disappeared.

According to investigators, video shows her sitting on the jetty in the sun before removing her towel and entering the water at approximately 11:51 a.m. She was seen swimming at 12:04 p.m. At around 12:46 p.m., her friend was recorded walking outside to search for her, then returning alone.

At a news conference on Tuesday, a Grenada police commissioner confirmed Waddell remains missing and that the case continues to be treated as a missing person investigation. Authorities said they are reviewing evidence and working to reconstruct her movements in the lead-up to her disappearance.

Her husband, Cailen Waddell, described his wife as a warm and outgoing person. "My wife is a loving, free-spirited person," he said. "She can make friends with anyone, and she often did. She placed great value in her intuition about people and was always willing to help someone."

Friends and family have remembered Waddell as someone deeply committed to others, both in her professional role as a physical therapist and in her personal life.

The U.S. State Department told ABC News it was aware of the situation and was assisting the family in filing missing persons reports, declining to comment further citing privacy concerns.

Grenadian authorities are continuing their search. Anyone with information about Waddell's whereabouts is asked to contact police in Grenada.
