Gunfire claimed the life of a male in his forties on Kill Avenue, Dún Laoghaire, shortly after dawn on Sunday, 5 July 2026. Emergency services were called to Patrician Park around 8:30am following reports of violence.

Dublin Live reported that the victim's remains stayed at the location while the area was cordoned off. Specialists from the Garda Technical Bureau arrived to gather evidence. A medical examination of the body was pending, and the coroner was informed.

Traffic restrictions hit Kill Avenue and Glenageary Road Upper, causing disruption for commuters. The E2 bus route experienced knock-on delays.

A senior officer took charge of the investigation, with a command centre set up at the local garda station to manage the case.

Investigators asked anyone who passed through the vicinity between 8am and 9am to check their vehicle cameras. Dash-cam recordings could prove crucial to establishing movements before and after the homicide.
