A 52-year-old man with no fixed address stands trial at the Central Criminal Court for allegedly attempting to murder two girls and a boy in the capital in late 2023.

Panel selection took place on Monday for the case against a 52-year-old individual facing allegations that he tried to end the lives of two female children and one male child in the capital.

The defendant, Riad Bouchaker, who lacks a permanent residence, is further accused of inflicting serious bodily harm upon a childcare worker. The alleged incidents occurred at Parnell Square East on the 23rd of November, 2023.

Court documents also list three further counts of causing harm through assault, involving two additional minors and a bystander. A separate charge relates to brandishing a blade.

During a preliminary session at Ireland's highest criminal court on Monday, Mr Justice Paul McDermott confirmed that twelve jurors would be seated at 2pm that same day. Mr Justice Tony Hunt is presiding over the proceedings.
