Gardaí discovered suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €1,000 during a search of a house in Rathvilly, County Carlow, the Kildare Nationalist reports.

The search took place on 28 May after officers executed a warrant at the property. During the operation, they recovered the suspected controlled drug.

One individual was arrested at the scene and detained under the Misuse of Drugs Act on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug with intent to sell or supply. The person was later released without charge.

Gardaí are awaiting the results of forensic testing on the suspected cocaine before deciding on further action.
