A male aged in his twenties is clinging to survival after a brutal beating on a central Dublin thoroughfare just after midnight on Sunday.

The incident struck at approximately 12.20am on Hawkins Street. Paramedics conveyed the victim to Beaumont Hospital, where he continues to receive intensive care.

Police have asked anyone present in the neighbourhood between twelve and twelve-thirty in the morning to make themselves known. Recordings from personal devices, CCTV, or car cameras are of particular interest to the inquiry team.

A spokesperson for the force stated that the probe is active and continuing.
