Economic crime detectives have placed a male in his forties under arrest amid allegations he offered unlawful inducements to a civil servant while that individual remained in post.
The inquiry focuses on suspected graft connected to an ex-municipal employee and private firms working in the southern area of the state.
Personnel from the national bureau's anti-corruption section executed the detention on Monday, 29 June, with support from regional colleagues.
The individual is being held for questioning at a southern station under legislation permitting custody for interrogation purposes.
