A man accused of injuring another person at a Navan bar has been released on €500 bail with passport surrender and witness-contact restrictions.

A 36-year-old man has been released on bail after appearing in court over allegations he harmed another individual at a licensed premises in Navan.

Arturas Mauruca, residing in the Clonmagadden area of the town, appeared before Navan District Court. He is accused of an attack at The Watergate Bar and Kitchen on Watergate Street that occurred on 21 June. A detective stated that the defendant was taken into custody at Blackcastle Demesne and subsequently conveyed to the local Garda station. When formally cautioned there, he remained silent.

The presiding judge set bail at €500 and ordered the accused to return before Trim District Court on 28 July. Release terms require him to notify officers of any change of residence, avoid all contact with those who may give evidence against him, hand over his passport and not seek replacement travel papers, and present himself at a Garda station three times weekly.

In an unrelated case heard the same day, a 36-year-old woman from Huntsgrove, Ashbourne, answered accusations of damaging property at Ashbourne Garda Station on 25 June. Prosecutors claimed she repeatedly spat at a service hatch. Further counts included behaving in a threatening, abusive and insulting manner, and public intoxication. An officer gave evidence of the arrest. This defendant was also granted bail and is due back at Trim District Court in July.
