Detectives in Limerick have detained a man following a knife assault on a teenage boy in the city centre.
The incident took place on Parnell Street in the late afternoon of Friday, June 12. The youth was wounded during the daylight attack and taken to University Hospital Limerick by ambulance. His condition was described as not life-threatening.
On Wednesday, July 1, gardaí confirmed they had arrested a man aged in his 30s in connection with the assault. He is being questioned at a Limerick garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, which allows detention for up to 24 hours.
The investigation is ongoing.
