A male aged 39 is being questioned by detectives following the death of another man at a property in the Cusher Green area of Mountnorris, County Armagh.
Emergency services were alerted shortly before half past eleven in the morning. When police and paramedics arrived, they found a victim with grave wounds to his head and face. The man could not be saved.
As detailed by RTE.ie, officers later detained a suspect on suspicion of homicide. He remained at a station helping investigators into the evening.
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Robinson, who is overseeing the case, said the probe has only just begun but is progressing rapidly. He told locals they will notice a heavier police footprint around Cusher Green while evidence-gathering continues, and that certain areas are still taped off.
