A man in his 30s has been charged in connection with the death of Noreen Daly and is due to appear before Carrick-on-Suir District Court on Wednesday morning, thejournal.ie reports.

Daly, who was in her 80s, was found dead at a property in the Ardsallagh area near Youghal Bridge in Co Waterford on Monday afternoon.

The man was arrested on Tuesday and subsequently charged ahead of his scheduled court appearance.

Gardaí confirmed that investigations into all circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing. An incident room has been established at Dungarvan Garda Station.
