Man Faces Court After Alleged Attack on Three Officers in Kildare
A male aged in his 30s stood before Naas District Court on Tuesday morning following accusations that he struck three members of An Garda Síochána during a patrol in Newbridge.
The episode unfolded on Monday evening, July 6, when officers were carrying out a visible patrol in the town. They placed the individual under arrest, during which he allegedly became aggressive and assaulted the three officers.
The wounded gardaí were taken to hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. The suspect was then transported to a Garda station elsewhere in County Kildare and questioned before being formally charged.
He appeared before the district court in Naas on Tuesday. Law enforcement stated that enquiries into the incident are continuing.
