Cobh Drug Seizure Yields €50,000 in Cannabis Under Operation Tara
Two people are being held in Garda custody following a drugs seizure at a residential property in Cobh, Co. Cork, c103.ie reports.
Officers from the Cork North East Divisional Drugs Unit searched the premises on Saturday, 6th June 2026, as part of Operation Tara, the national initiative targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs.
During the search, Gardaí recovered cannabis with an estimated street value of approximately €50,000, along with a small quantity of cocaine. Utensils associated with the mixing and preparation of drugs were also found at the property.
A man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s were arrested in connection with the investigation. Both are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda station in the Southern Region.
The seized substances are to be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
