Jamaica-gleaner.com reports that two men lost their lives in unrelated stabbing incidents across St Elizabeth and Clarendon on Sunday, with authorities confirming suspects are in custody in each case.

The victims have been named as Tajay Atkins, 22, an unemployed resident of Union district in Balaclava, St Elizabeth, and Errol Nelson, 57, an entrepreneur from Brandon Hill district, Crofts Hill, Clarendon.

Atkins was discovered with multiple stab wounds at the rear of his home in Union, Balaclava, at around 6:30 a.m. A medical practitioner pronounced him dead at the scene. The alleged attacker subsequently turned himself in to police and remains in custody while detectives from the Black River Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) continue their investigation.

Nelson was reportedly stabbed at his business premises, Breadfruit Tree Shop in Brandon Hill, Crofts Hill, at approximately 2:00 p.m. Police took an alleged assailant into custody shortly afterwards. Detectives from the May Pen CIB are now probing the circumstances of the killing.

The two deaths form part of a broader pattern of fatal stabbing incidents reported across the island in recent days, with police continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding each attack.
