Law enforcement in Portland have taken an underage individual into custody in connection with a homicide that took place near the local transport hub on Monday.

The person who lost his life has been identified by authorities as Jeremy Ferguson, commonly referred to as "Tarzan." His precise age remains undetermined at this stage of the probe.

The chain of events began, according to early findings, when the detained youth and three companions were wagering money behind a restroom building situated close to the bus park. Tensions flared and a violent quarrel erupted among the quartet.

The three companions departed but later reappeared alongside three older males, Ferguson being one of them. Together, the six allegedly launched an attack on the younger individual.

It was during this melee that the accused reportedly drew a sharp weapon and struck Ferguson. Bystanders assisted in transporting the bleeding man to Port Antonio Hospital, where staff could only confirm he had already succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives stationed in Port Antonio have launched a formal probe and are actively pursuing further leads.
