Nevis Resident Ordered to Pay $18,000 After Guilty Plea in Drug Case

A court on Nevis has imposed a heavy monetary penalty on a local man who admitted to an offence linked to marijuana production.

Te'Jon Wilkin, who lives in Nisbett Settlement, was brought before the Charlestown Magistrate's Court earlier this month. During the hearing on February 3, 2026, he entered a guilty plea to the charge of cultivating cannabis. His Honour Mr Renold Benjamin presided over the proceedings.

The magistrate ruled that Wilkin must pay a sum of $18,000 in Eastern Caribbean currency. He has been given a three-month window to settle the amount. Should he be unable or unwilling to pay, he risks spending two months behind bars.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force issued a statement on February 9 confirming the outcome of the case.
