Police in the Cayman Islands have arrested and charged a teenage boy in connection with numerous thefts and property damage offences spanning February to July 2026, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service announced. The case ties into a recent cluster of car thefts reported in Windsor Park and Prospect.

Every vehicle involved was either a Honda Civic or a CR-V. Investigators had earlier said they believed the automobiles were being stripped for components or altered to conceal their origins.

Officers also suspected the stolen cars were being employed by criminals to commit additional serious offences.

The accused faces several charges, among them theft, property damage, unauthorised taking and driving of a vehicle, aggravated burglary, burglary, and handling stolen goods.

He was granted bail under stringent terms and is expected before the court on Tuesday, 21 July.
