Four murders in one weekend shake Saint Lucia, one man charged

Four men and women were killed across Saint Lucia in a violent weekend; one suspect has been charged with two of the murders and remanded to Bordelais.

Four killings in a single weekend push Saint Lucia's murder toll higher

Thevoiceslu.com reports that four people were killed across Saint Lucia between Saturday May 9 and Sunday May 17, 2026, in a string of separate shooting incidents that kept the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) occupied throughout the period.

The first incident unfolded on Saturday May 9, at approximately 11:00 p.m., when officers from the Marchand Police Station responded to a shooting on Marchand Road, Castries. Two victims — one male, one female — sustained gunshot wounds. Pearl Ramsay, 64, of Marchand, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, Sheston Duncan, 34, also known as "Bolom" of Black Mallet, Marchand, was transported to the Owen King European Hospital (OKEU) via Saint Lucia Fire Service ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

Seth John was arrested on Tuesday May 12, 2026, as a suspect in the killings of both Ramsay and Duncan. He was formally charged with two counts of murder on Thursday May 14, and escorted to the First District Court on Friday May 15 for bail proceedings. The court remanded him to the Bordelais Correctional Facility.

A third killing came to light on Saturday May 16, at around 1:05 p.m., when officers from the Criminal Investigations Department responded to a report of a body discovered in a house at La Pansee, Castries. The victim, Christopher John Edward, 48, of La Pansee, was found with multiple apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene. A postmortem is scheduled for a later date, and investigations are continuing.

A fourth victim was added to the toll on Sunday May 17, at approximately 10:45 p.m., when officers from the Gros Islet Police Station responded to a shooting in Massade, Gros Islet. One male victim sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to the Gros Islet Polyclinic via private vehicle, where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was identified as Julien Cedrick Agian, 34, of Massade, Gros Islet. One person is presently assisting police with that investigation. A postmortem has also been scheduled.

The RSLPF has appealed to anyone with information on any of these incidents to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 456-3754, or to submit an anonymous tip by dialling 555, the Crime Hotline, or through the RSLPF Crime Hotline Application, available on the Google Play Store.

In a separate but related development, officers from the Gangs, Narcotics, Firearms Unit, the Special Services Unit, and the Central Intelligence Unit conducted a joint operation on Wednesday May 13, 2026, at Wilton Yard, Grass Street, and Leslie Land. Four structures were searched during the operation. A search warrant was executed on the premises of Elijah Benjamin Khodra, also known as "Beh ben," of Leslie Land. Officers recovered a component part of a firearm — specifically the backplate of a Glock pistol.

Elijah Benjamin was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of a component part of a weapon, contrary to Section 22(3) of the Firearm Act of Saint Lucia. He was brought before the First District Court and granted bail of EC$15,000 cash or suitable surety.
