In the early hours of Saturday, January 3, 2026, officers from the Criminal Investigations Department were called to investigate reports of violence at Darling Road, Castries. Upon arrival, they discovered that a young male had suffered serious wounds consistent with a knife attack.

The injured party, later identified as sixteen-year-old Omar Joseph, who resided in Marisule within the Gros Islet district, had already been rushed to the Owen King European Hospital by private vehicle. Medical staff were unable to save him, and he was declared deceased.

The following day, twenty-one-year-old Sherneil Theophile, also known by the aliases "Unts" or "Ants," appeared before the First District Court. The court ordered him held at the Bordelais Correctional Facility while proceedings continue. Theophile hails from Corinth, Gros Islet.
