Law-enforcement officers detained four suspects and recovered bullets, a firearm magazine, and marijuana during weekend sweeps across Central and Southern Division districts.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) reported that the Central Division Task Force ran an operation from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Saturday in Couva. While searching near a mango tree off Greig Street, they found a black plastic bag holding a pistol magazine loaded with four rounds.

In another sweep, personnel from the Longdenville Police Post, backed by the Central Division Gang Unit, worked from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday. They uncovered 50 rounds of 7.62 ammunition and 43 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

ACP Remy, Senior Superintendent Bhagwandeen, Superintendent Frank, and Inspector Rampersad oversaw the Central Division efforts.

Separately, the Southern Division Task Force, with help from the Canine Branch, carried out an exercise from 1:30 pm to 8 pm on Saturday. That sweep led to four arrests for possession of marijuana, equipment, and camouflage attire.

Senior Superintendent Simon, Superintendent Bertie, W/Superintendent Bridglal, and ASPs Pacheco, Ramsaran, Chulhan, and Ragbir directed the Southern Division operation.

Authorities stated that inquiries are continuing.
