A former policeman lost his licensed Glock 19, badge, and ammunition when a bald customer allegedly snatched his bag from a fruit stand on Exchange Estate Road.

Detectives are trying to locate a bald man accused of walking off with a former policeman's weapon and official credentials from a fruit stand in Couva.

The ex-officer, aged 55, was tending his roadside stall on Exchange Estate Road shortly before 2 pm on Tuesday when the bag vanished. He had left the black canvas pack on a table within the small shop.

Its contents included a Glock 19 handgun, a Firearm User's Licence, thirty 9mm rounds, a pair of magazines, plus his TTPS badge and identification card.

Reviewing recorded video, the victim said he spotted a bald individual come in pretending to browse, seize the pack, and depart.

The person was said to be brown-skinned, hairless, and dressed in a grey tee, dark blue shorts, and slip-on footwear.
