Tobago has recorded its first killing of 2026, with one individual now detained following a fatal incident in Signal Hill on Tuesday night, according to the Trinidad Guardian.

The deceased has been identified as Jamaille Fraser, a 25-year-old resident of Cornal Rock Road in Signal Hill. Authorities described him as unemployed.

Reports indicate that at approximately 10:34 pm, someone discovered Fraser lying unresponsive on the ground at his residence.

Officers were alerted and arrived to find Fraser on the ground with what appeared to be bullet wounds to the head.

A district medical officer declared him deceased shortly before midnight and directed that the body be taken to the Scarborough General Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examination.

One suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
