Thames Valley Police is seeking witnesses after a suspected drive-by shooting on Earls Lane in Cippenham on 5 June at approximately 5.50pm, sloughexpress.co.uk reports.

A group of men were on foot along Earls Lane when occupants of a blue vehicle, travelling from Moor Furlong, reportedly discharged a firearm in their direction. Police believe one of the men on foot was also armed and fired back at the vehicle. Both parties left the scene before officers arrived.

Thames Valley Police said it does not believe anyone sustained injuries during the incident.

The suspects are described as young men dressed in tracksuits and balaclavas.

Detective Inspector Simon Reid, the investigating officer, said: "I understand that this may cause concern in the local community but I want to reassure you that we are investigating this as a priority."

Reid added that police consider there to be no wider threat to the public and confirmed an increased officer presence would be deployed in the area. "If you have any concerns or questions, please speak with a uniformed officer," he said.

The detective inspector appealed directly for information from anyone in the area at the time. "If you saw the four men running or a blue vehicle driving at speed in this area, please contact us," Reid said. Anyone with relevant information is asked to call 101 or submit an online report via the Thames Valley Police website, quoting reference number 43260281816.
