Cambridgeshire Police deployed vans equipped with the system for the second time in the city that day. Of the 22,000 faces captured, two matched entries on a police watchlist. The man who was arrested was suspected of driving while disqualified.

The force first used the technology in Peterborough on 19 May, when 34,000 faces were scanned over six hours. That operation resulted in two arrests — one man wanted in connection with theft and another with shoplifting, both having failed to appear in court.

Cambridgeshire Police stated that images of individuals who did not match the watchlist database were permanently deleted immediately after scanning.
