A 65-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman who survived for nearly six years after a violent attack, bbc.co.uk reports.

Suffolk Police responded to a call on Victoria Road, Lowestoft, late on 9 September 2019, where they found 39-year-old Sarah Crush with a serious head injury. She was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge for treatment.

Sarah received 24-hour care from the time of the attack until her death on 21 December last year at the age of 45.

Stephen Crush, formerly of Lowestoft, has since been charged with her murder. He appeared at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Friday and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday.
