Rababah Family Targeted as Tyre Is Slashed Near School
Labour candidate Omar Rababah turned to social media to call for respect and basic decency after his sister's tyre was slashed, Lovin Malta reports.
The incident lasted under five minutes. Rababah's sister had stopped outside her son's school to collect him and returned to find the tyre cut with a sharp tool.
Rababah addressed the attacker directly, urging them to stop any further incidents. He stated that politics should never descend to this level, and stressed that his family members have no involvement in his political career.
"My family is scared," Rababah said, adding that they bear no responsibility for the controversy surrounding his candidacy.
Rababah had faced significant backlash when he announced he would be standing for the Labour Party in the 6th and 7th district. Despite that criticism, a number of people responded to his social media post with messages of solidarity.
