A 17-year-old has been arrested after a high-speed pursuit spanning North and West Yorkshire, bbc.co.uk reports.

The incident began on Tuesday morning when a Jaguar was reported stolen from an address in Selby, North Yorkshire. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle at 09:20 GMT, but the driver fled, reaching speeds of 100mph along the A65 from Skipton through Ilkley to Otley.

Several specialist units joined the operation alongside colleagues from West Yorkshire Police in an effort to intercept the car.

The teenager was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, burglary, failing to stop for police, criminal damage, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, and resisting arrest, North Yorkshire Police said. He remains in custody.

A force spokesperson confirmed no members of the public were injured during the pursuit. "We appreciate the public's patience and cooperation while Bridge Street in Otley was temporarily blocked," the spokesperson added.
