Police executed warrants on Tib Street and a North Manchester address on Monday, arresting three men on suspicion of drug supply and weapons offences.

Three men have been arrested following police raids on a business in Manchester's Northern Quarter and a separate address in north Manchester, manchestereveningnews.co.uk reports.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP), working alongside licensing and Trading Standards teams, executed warrants on Tib Street on Monday (1 June) and taped off the surrounding area. The operation followed reports of drug dealing, anti-social behaviour, and associated criminality in the area, as well as concerns raised by residents and businesses around Piccadilly Gardens and the Northern Quarter.

A man aged 56 was arrested at the Tib Street business on suspicion of handling stolen goods, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession with intent to supply Class C drugs. At a separate address in north Manchester, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon. A third man, also aged 23, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs. All three have been bailed pending further investigation.

A closure notice was placed on the Tib Street business for an initial 48-hour period, with an application for a Closure Order submitted to the Magistrates' Court.

Inspector Kam Hare, from GMP's City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "We have listened carefully to the concerns raised by residents and businesses across the Northern Quarter, who have been reporting various types of anti-social and drug criminality. Acting on that information and intelligence, officers executed a warrant yesterday, targeting those believed to be linked to criminal activity in the area."

Hare added that the action demonstrated GMP's "commitment to tackling the issues that matter most to our communities, disrupting criminal networks and improving safety in the city centre," and that the force would continue working with local partners, residents, and businesses to keep Manchester city centre safe.
