A 17-year-old boy from Durley has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm following a knife incident on Fair Oak Road, eastleighnews.co.uk reports.

Officers from response and neighbourhood policing teams were called to reports of a fight on Wednesday afternoon. Police said the two individuals involved were known to each other.

An 18-year-old man from Eastleigh sustained a cut to his hand and head injuries. Paramedics treated him at the scene; he did not require hospital admission.

Officers subsequently searched the area and recovered a knife believed to have been used in the incident.

The 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place, and possession of cannabis. He remains in custody.

Neighbourhood officers have been conducting enquiries and reassurance patrols in the area. Police said they had already spoken to several witnesses and identified footage linked to the incident.
