A 26-year-old man from Hucknall has been sentenced to seven years and two months in prison after a loaded revolver and ammunition were recovered during a police raid at his home, westbridgfordwire.com reports.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police attended Tiron Desuza's address on Watnall Road on 4 March 2026 to arrest him in connection with separate matters. While officers secured the rear of the property, one saw a landing window open and items being thrown onto a flat roof below.

Drone footage captured by police showed the roof had been clear prior to their arrival and recorded the moment the window was opened. Officers subsequently recovered a revolver and rounds of ammunition wrapped in a plastic bag.

Desuza denied in interview that the firearm was his or that he had thrown it from the window, claiming the window was already open because he had been burning incense. He later pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition at an earlier hearing.

At Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday 3 June, Desuza received a total sentence of seven years and two months.

Police Constable Paulina Goral, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Being in possession of a firearm is a very serious offence. Thankfully, firearms and firearms offences are extremely rare in Nottinghamshire and we are proactive in our efforts to take them off the streets and keep the public safe."
