Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in connection with a deadly hit-and-run on Chicago's South Side, abc7chicago.com reports.

The incident occurred just after 4:45 p.m. on 17 November in the Morgan Park neighbourhood, on the 11700-block of South Marshfield Avenue.

According to police, a 45-year-old man had an argument with the driver of a van before crossing in front of the vehicle to return to his own car, which was parked nearby. The van's driver then accelerated and struck the victim, who became trapped underneath the vehicle and was dragged along before being run over by both the front and rear tyres. The driver fled southbound on Marshfield Avenue.

The victim was left lying in the car park and was later pronounced dead, police said.

Investigators have released an image of the van they are seeking in connection with the incident.
