Arrest Made Weeks After Woman Found Shot Dead in Wrecked Truck on Highway 3
A 41-year-old woman was found fatally shot inside a crashed pickup truck on state Highway 3 in Grenada County, wtva.com reports. Amanda Liston of Panola County died from gunshot wounds after her 2015 Ford F-150 left the road and struck a tree on July 26.
Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers responded to the crash and discovered Liston with fatal injuries. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) confirmed her cause of death, though investigators said it remains unclear whether the crash preceded the shooting or the other way around.
Nearly a month later, on August 18, the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Cortrell Motley, 36, on an MBI warrant for first-degree murder in connection with Liston's death.
Authorities have not released further details about the investigation, citing its ongoing status. The MBI said no additional comment would be made at this time.
