A shooting in the Whitehaven neighbourhood of Memphis left one man fighting for his life on Saturday morning.

According to the Memphis Police Department, shortly after 8 a.m., officers were alerted that a wounded individual had been brought into a nearby hospital by private vehicle. The man had sustained a gunshot injury and was listed in critical condition.

Law enforcement later identified the location where the gunfire erupted as Shayne Lane, within the Whitehaven district.

Authorities have not announced any arrests connected to the incident, and the investigation remains active.
