Two arrests, one person sought after Kings Highway shootout in Shreveport

Two people have been arrested and a third is wanted for questioning following a "rolling shootout" on Kings Highway near Mall St. Vincent in Shreveport, Louisiana, ksla.com reports.

The incident occurred on Monday, March 30. Shreveport Police Department (SPD) received multiple calls about shots being fired in the area. One man was struck by gunfire in both thighs and rushed into surgery in critical condition. Police now believe he was the instigator of the shooting and have since arrested him.

Rayveous Crawford was identified as a suspect after he arrived at Ochsner Hospital with gunshot wounds to both legs, transported there by a family member. During a subsequent interview with detectives, Crawford was reluctant to provide details about the incident. He was arrested and charged with illegal carrying and discharge of weapons.

Chrishun Morris was located at a residence on Tierra Drive and brought in for questioning. Following his interview, Morris was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice.

According to SPD, investigators pieced together the sequence of events using witness statements and surveillance footage from nearby businesses. One caller to 911 reported seeing a man firing from a black Mercedes on Kings Highway. A witness at a nearby McDonald's told ksla.com they narrowly avoided being shot and observed a red car they believed was involved in the incident. Police say a gray vehicle may also have played a role.

Witnesses at the Community Bank of Louisiana observed the shooting directly, while others in the area reported hearing gunfire.

A third individual connected to the case remains wanted for questioning. Investigators have not released that person's identity.

SPD has not disclosed the name of the man who was shot and subsequently arrested as the alleged instigator. The investigation remains ongoing.
