Man shot dead on Roscoe Avenue in Birmingham's Kingston neighbourhood

Cornelius Lee Evans, 23, was shot and killed Thursday evening near 46th Street North in Kingston. No arrests have been made.

According to wbrc.com, the Birmingham Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday evening, 5 March, in the Kingston neighbourhood.

Officers responded to the corner of Roscoe Avenue and 46th Street North at approximately 8:50 p.m., where they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported the victim to UAB Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified him as Cornelius Lee Evans, 23, a Birmingham resident.

The case has been classified as a homicide investigation. As of Friday morning, no one is in custody.
