Authorities in the state of Mississippi have detained four adolescents enrolled at Grenada High School over their alleged roles in the slaying of a 16-year-old schoolmate last month, Action News 5 reports.

The deceased youth has been named as Ayden Reno, who lost his life in September.

Toward the end of last month, officers disclosed that three of the individuals — Zacharias Steward, Nickolus Brown, and Lemarion Henderson — had been booked on homicide counts. A fourth pupil, Ryan Spencer, was apprehended on the final day of September and accused of aiding in the offense.

Each of the four suspects studies at Grenada High School, according to law enforcement.

Officials are continuing to look into what transpired and how the young victim died.
