The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m., according to law enforcement officials. The senior citizen took hits to his arm and torso. Paramedics brought him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where physicians anticipate a full recovery.

Police stated that the assailant, described only as a male, sprinted away from the crime scene following the gunfire. Investigators have not disclosed any information regarding what may have triggered the violence or who the shooter might be.
