A transportation app worker was threatened with deadly violence during an evening pickup in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 24, 2026, according to the Memphis Police Department.

The encounter unfolded at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Faxon Avenue. The victim had accepted a fare through Lyft and collected the male rider in the 1300 block of that street. The customer requested a stop at a different address, exited briefly to leave a parcel, then climbed back into the vehicle.

When the operator indicated he needed to collect his next passenger, the rider refused to leave and demanded to be driven to his dwelling. Upon the driver's refusal, the assailant produced a pistol from his clothing and warned he would shoot unless he was transported home.

The perpetrator fled the scene and has not yet been located. Investigators ask anyone with information to reach out to Crimestoppers by dialing 901-528-CASH.
