Arkansas State Police are calling on parents not to attempt to flee law enforcement with children in their vehicle, actionnews5.com reports, following public outrage over recent high-speed pursuits involving child passengers.

Colonel Mike Hagar cited a May 24 chase near Camden in which a driver exceeded 100 miles per hour, swerved into oncoming traffic, and ultimately crashed, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Troopers pulled four young children from the wreckage. An unrestrained infant was ejected from the SUV, landing away from live power lines.

The driver now faces multiple felony charges, including endangering the welfare of a minor.
