An armed man was taken into custody by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers on Wednesday night after threatening to harm an infant, fox5vegas.com reports.
The incident began as a domestic violence call received just before 7:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of Bright Rose Drive, near Tropicana Avenue and Boulder Highway. As officers were responding, they received updated information that the man had taken a baby and was in possession of a firearm.
Police were advised the suspect intended to harm the child. Officers located his vehicle and carried out a forced stop near Maryland Parkway and University Avenue.
The baby was rescued and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Detectives remained on scene to conduct an investigation. Police confirmed no other subjects were outstanding in connection with the incident.
The condition of the baby and the suspect were not immediately provided by authorities.
