A young Dominican man was taken into custody in Pennsylvania in connection with a deadly shooting that unfolded in broad daylight in Brooklyn, New York, according to El Nacional.

The incident occurred last weekend at the corner of Humboldt and Moore streets. A gunman, identified by police as 21-year-old Amuri Greene, opened fire on a group that included several adults and children. The child's parents had been heading to a nearby supermarket when the violence erupted.

Greene fled the scene on a motorcycle but crashed into a car traveling in the opposite direction, breaking his leg in the process. Another individual, identified as Rodríguez, managed to escape.

Prosecutor Jordan Rossman indicated that the shooting appeared to stem from a failed gang-related settling of scores, with the girl's father believed to have been the intended target. New York Police Department Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny stated that a gang known as MOE is embroiled in a conflict with a group linked to Greene, which operates out of Marcy Houses.

"We are continuing to investigate that matter. We know that (Kaori's father) does have ties to other members of the gang (Money Over Everything)," Kenny said.

The case highlights ongoing gang tensions in the Brooklyn area and the tragic consequences of street violence affecting innocent bystanders.
