An armed 38-year-old man was taken into custody near a golf club owned by Donald Trump in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, after undercover federal agents spotted him on the property, according to Euronews Romania (https://www.euronews.ro/articole/barbat-inarmat-arestat-in-apropierea-unui-teren-de-golf-al-lui-donald-trump/). The arrest occurred on Sunday ahead of a presidential fundraising dinner scheduled in Los Angeles, but authorities only disclosed the incident later.

Police identified the suspect as Jeanine John Taele. Officers observed him walking around the Trump National Golf Course, photographing and filming the area while apparently observing security preparations, the Los Angeles Police Department stated. He was carrying illegal ammunition, and a search of his person revealed sixteen cartridges.

Investigators also examined a vehicle parked at the golf course and discovered a loaded handgun plus a magazine filled with hollow-point rounds, which expand on impact and inflict severe damage. California prohibits magazines capable of holding more than ten rounds and maintains some of the strictest firearm laws in the United States.

During questioning, police learned that Taele was already wanted by the El Segundo Police Department in connection with a robbery committed near Rancho Palos Verdes. A subsequent raid on his residence in Downey, a city within the Los Angeles metropolitan area, uncovered an illegally modified AR-style rifle, a .45-caliber pistol, a bullet-resistant vest, high-capacity magazines, numerous rounds for pistols and rifles, and notebooks containing alarming statements.

At the time of the incident, the White House indicated that the president planned to deliver remarks criticizing California Governor Gavin Newsom, who is widely viewed as a potential contender for the 2028 presidential race.
