Cheektowaga man charged with second-degree murder in fatal Buffalo shooting

A 22-year-old Cheektowaga man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting on Walden Avenue in Buffalo that killed a 21-year-old man.

According to wkbw.com, Buffalo Police Department officers responded to a shooting on the 200 block of Walden Avenue just after 9:30 p.m. on Monday. A 21-year-old Buffalo man, identified as Jihad Gibbs, was transported to Erie County Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

Detectives subsequently arrested Angel Gonzalez-Rondon, 22, of Cheektowaga, in connection with the homicide. Gonzalez-Rondon has been charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and several additional criminal charges.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
