A 35-year-old California man was arrested in Washington D.C. after Capitol Police found a guillotine in his pickup truck near the Supreme Court.

U.S. Capitol Police arrested a California man on Tuesday after officers discovered a guillotine in the bed of his pickup truck, nbcnews.com reports.

Philan-Tam-Duy Le, 35, of Julian, California, was taken into custody on suspicion of carrying a dangerous weapon. Capitol Police announced the arrest in a formal news release, stating Le had driven from California to Washington specifically for the visit.

Le's vehicle was found illegally parked near both the Capitol building and the Supreme Court. "USCP investigators are going through the suspect's background to learn more about why he came to Washington," police said in the release.

An Instagram account believed to belong to Le showed a Story posted Tuesday afternoon featuring a video of a man standing with the guillotine outside FBI headquarters in the city. In the clip, the man says, "Outside the FBI building, just eating some cheese pizza." The post carried the caption "Guillotine adventures" and included the text "Capital hill next."

Congress is currently in recess, with lawmakers away from Washington in their home districts.

Capitol Police noted that arrests made beyond the immediate Capitol grounds do not necessarily indicate a politically motivated incident. Investigators are continuing to examine Le's background and the circumstances behind his trip to the capital.
