Two individuals inside the car began firing into the group, striking twelve victims ranging in age from seventeen to forty-seven, investigators confirmed.

Among those who perished across the multiple incidents were males aged twenty-one, thirty-three, and thirty-four. Authorities have withheld the identities of most casualties.

The eruption of bloodshed prompted President Donald Trump to demand federal troop deployment within city limits. He accused Illinois Governor JB Pritzker of rejecting Washington's assistance in tackling street crime and asserted he could turn Chicago into one of the safest American cities through military intervention.

Governor Pritzker, a Democrat, has consistently opposed such proposals, including previous efforts to place the Illinois National Guard under federal control.
