A 36-year-old woman stabbed two men in Chicago's Loop district on Friday afternoon, abc7chicago.com reports, following an incident in which a man made "unwanted contact" with another woman on a busy downtown sidewalk.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. in the 200 block of North State Street. A 31-year-old man allegedly made unwanted physical contact with a 24-year-old woman who was walking on the pavement. The 31-year-old then became involved in a physical altercation with a 25-year-old man.

During the fight, the 36-year-old woman produced a knife and stabbed the 31-year-old man in the right eye and the 25-year-old man in the left wrist.

Both men were transported to Northwestern Hospital and were reported to be in good condition. The 36-year-old woman was taken to hospital for observation. The 24-year-old woman declined medical treatment at the scene.

A knife was recovered at the scene. Chicago police (CPD) blocked off the intersection at State and Lake while the investigation was under way.

As of the time of reporting, no arrests had been confirmed.

Chicago police initially classified the incident as a sexual assault before 6 p.m. on Friday, but later revised the classification to "unwanted contact," according to abc7chicago.com.
