Manchester woman arrested for cannabis gummy incident at St. Vincent's Behavioral Health

A 34-year-old Manchester, Connecticut woman has been arrested after allegedly giving a cannabis gummy to a juvenile relative inside St. Vincent's Medical Center Behavioral Health Inpatient Services in Westport, westportjournal.com reports.

Kimberly Champlin is accused of handing the THC-infused edible to the younger family member during a visit to the facility at 47 Long Lots Road. The incident occurred last year, according to police.

The juvenile later told others he had gotten "high" while at the center. Staff were subsequently informed and contacted the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, which in turn notified police on Oct. 20, 2025.

On Tuesday, Connecticut State Police Troop F informed Westport police that Champlin was being held on an arrest warrant. Westport officers transported her to police headquarters, where she was charged with risk of injury to a child.

Champlin was released on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Stamford on May 29.
