Derry Man Indicted for Threatening Juveniles with Knife in Rockingham County

A Derry man faces a felony criminal threatening charge after pointing a knife at a group of juveniles. Patch reports on a series of Rockingham County grand jury indictments.

Rockingham County Grand Jury Hands Down Indictments on Knife Threat, Drug and Assault Charges

A Rockingham County grand jury has indicted more than a dozen individuals on felony charges ranging from criminal threatening to possession of child sexual abuse material, patch.com reports. Among those named, a Derry man stands accused of pointing a knife at a group of juveniles.

Knife threat in Derry

John Joseph Haley, 45, of Elm Street in Derry, was indicted on one felony count of criminal threatening. He was accused of placing a group of juveniles in fear of injury on April 11 by pointing a knife while saying, "Get out of this town," or words to that effect.

Assault and strangulation charges

Joseph Anthony Gomes, 37, of Diniz Drive in Raynham, Massachusetts, faces two counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and two counts of second-degree assault by strangulation, both felonies, as well as driving after revocation, driving under the influence — second offense, and five simple assault charges. Gomes was accused of strangling another person and grabbing the steering wheel of a moving vehicle on Sept. 21, 2025, in Atkinson and Plaistow. He was also accused of driving while intoxicated at approximately 70 miles per hour in a 35-mph residential zone in Atkinson. He was previously convicted of OUI in Roxbury, Massachusetts, District Court in February 2022.

Drug possession with intent to sell

Christopher Michael Grant, 40, of East Milan Road in Berlin, was indicted on three felony counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to sell — fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine — in connection with an incident on March 10 in North Hampton.

Child sexual abuse material

Jonathan Daniel Hankins, 32, of Winding Pond Road in Londonderry, faces 10 felony counts of possession of child sexual abuse images. He was accused of possessing .mp4 files on March 19 in Londonderry.

Habitual offender driving charges

Timothy James Giorgi, 29, of Main Street in Kingston, was indicted on charges of operating after being certified as a habitual offender and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol — fourth offense — following an incident on Main Street in Kingston on March 14.

Harold Stephen Peter Kemp, 53, of Raiders Lane in Raymond, faces two felony counts of driving while certified as a habitual offender. He was accused of driving on Route 101 in Candia on Jan. 26 after being deemed a habitual offender by the New Hampshire DMV, and again on Harriman Hill Road in Raymond on Feb. 14 after being released on bail by Candia District Court.

Theft and robbery charges

Camden Lashua, 19, of Berkshire Street in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, was indicted on a felony robbery count. He was accused of using pepper spray on another person while committing a theft in Salem on Feb. 20.

Adam Scott Green, 30, of Alyssa Drive in Groveland, Massachusetts, faces a felony count of theft by unauthorized taking. He was accused of stealing between $1,000 and $1,500 in merchandise from Dick's Sporting Goods in Newington on March 12.

Tammy Lee Kendrick, 51, of Winter Street in Framingham, Massachusetts, was indicted on a felony theft count after allegedly stealing groceries from a Market Basket in Salem on Aug. 22, 2025. The indictment notes she had been previously convicted on two theft charges.

Vicki Jo Knowles, 43, of Collins Street in Seabrook, faces a felony count of attempted theft by deception. She was accused of attempting to use stolen credit and debit cards at a Walmart in Newington on Oct. 23, 2025. The indictment states she had been previously convicted on theft charges twice before.

Attempted burglary

Andrew Joseph Gray, 31, of New Haven Drive in Nashua, was indicted on an attempted burglary charge, a felony. He was accused of attempting to manipulate the doorknob and keypad of a dwelling on Ocean Drive in Hampton on Dec. 22, 2025.
