A man from the Dominican Republic accused of playing a part in a cross-border narcotics ring has been sent to Puerto Rico to stand trial, the country's anti-drug agency announced.

Missaelle Morales Silvestre, who also goes by "Bori" and "El Viejo," was placed in the hands of American law enforcement at the Las Américas airport near Santo Domingo before being flown to the island.

The transfer was executed by officers from the DNCD together with prosecutors, assisted by members of the U.S. Marshals. It was carried out under the terms of a presidential order numbered 338-26.

Prosecutors in Puerto Rico claim he was part of a scheme to move at least five kilos of cocaine, knowing the product would be brought unlawfully into the United States from places such as Colombia.

He had been picked up in April 2026 during a monitoring operation along Independencia Avenue in the capital city. The extradition decree includes a condition preventing him from being tried for any conduct outside the scope of the current charges.

Authorities on both sides framed the move as an example of their joint work to track down individuals connected to the illegal drug trade and organized criminal networks spanning borders.
