Federal investigators have arrested five people across multiple American states in connection with a plot to assassinate President Donald Trump and other prominent figures. According to TVRInfo.ro, authorities identified 23 individuals believed to be involved in the conspiracy.
The suspects allegedly planned to strike during a sporting event held at the White House the previous Sunday. Their scheme involved using drones packed with explosives to hit nearby buildings. The goal was to create panic among attendees, who would then be driven toward positions occupied by snipers.
The intended targets included Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and businessman Elon Musk. A second team was reportedly set to force entry through the White House gates.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation received a tip several days before the event from the mother of one suspect. She had grown concerned about her son's weapons purchases and his online communications with a group of former military members and individuals holding radical religious beliefs.
The organization aimed to trigger a revolution by attacking influential people. Their grievances included government corruption, the handling of the Epstein case, and data centers consuming large amounts of water.
When asked whether he had been informed about the alleged plot, Trump denied having any prior knowledge.
"I haven't heard of that, no. But the attack I watched was the fighters," the president stated.
Vice President JD Vance declined to provide specifics about the incident but pointed to rhetoric from left-wing political forces.
"These are very, very dark things. And unfortunately, we talk about this a little behind the camera, but this happens when people amplify rhetoric so much that disagreement with someone becomes a reason for violence. Unfortunately, this is where we have ended up because of political rhetoric," Vance said.
This is not the first attempt on the American president's life. In April, a man opened fire on Secret Service agents at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, an event Trump attended. Last July, he was shot and slightly wounded in the ear during an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
